The Marketing Kit for my Book has Arrived

It is almost two months now since my book entitled INSPIRED TO TRAVEL; TRAVEL TO INSPIRE – A TRAVEL MEMOIR was published online via Amazon.com, as well as on Barnes and Noble website. Since then, I have been waiting for the marketing materials from the publisher as it is part of the benefits for the Gold Package that we purchased to publish my book from a Singaporean based company. Early this morning, I received a call from UPS that there is a shipment, a small package for me from the U.S. Later on a courier man came and indeed I have a parcel from Partridge in Bloomington, Indiana. The package contains marketing kits which are bookmarks, business cards and postcards as promotional items – GWPs for my book. I am glad that finally it has arrived. Now I have something to give away to help promote future sales of my book.

If you are planning to publish your own book and do not want to worry about the entire lengthy and grueling process of having your own book get published. If you can afford and have a budget for it, then let other people to do the job. Especially the copyediting, securing of ISBN, layout preparation, interior design, editing, printing, copyright registration, etc…. In this way, all you have to do is to prepare your material, submit your manuscript, raw photos and permissions, if applicable. Then you may consider contacting the same company – Partridge Publishing Singapore who did the publishing of my book.

As a result of my research last year they were the most affordable company in the area of book publishing compared to the other companies’ quotes I got from the USA, Australia and UAE which were all based on the requirements I presented to them. Though as an author, your responsibility does not end after submission of your manuscript. You still need to monitor and follow up from time to time that your expectations are met, based on the package you are willing to pay for. You have to be patient to check and be critical at times that each and every single detail of your expected outcome is strictly followed. After all, it is your call to approve the final layout before it will be sent for printing and for actual publishing. Take your time and make sure that you are completely satisfied with the final galley before sending your approval.
