Jane Austen, born 16th December 1775 in Hampshire, England
Died a spinster on 18th July 1817, you’ve been long gone.
The style, the wit presented in your Novels they work like magic
They entertain and evoke the heart of every hopeless romantic.
I won’t get bored reading and rereading, tis what I do.
Some of your works though published Centuries ago.
If you only knew they gave us much welcome diversion,
Providing us entertainment away from depression.
Six Novels bear the Jane Austen’s indelible mark
From “Sense and Sensibility”, Emma”, “Mansfield Park”.
There’s “Persuasion”, “Northanger Abbey” though I like it least.
And there’s my fave “Pride & Prejudice” the all-time best.
Being an ardent fan of yours will not diminish
My desire to search more of your works ever flourish.
Until one day I found yet more classic books.
One contains compiled Poems & your Minor Works.
