Ichthys or ichthus souvenir from Athens
I got this ichthys or ichthus souvenir during my visit to Athens, Greece. During the time of the Roman Empire, when the early believers were persecuted for being Christians, they adapted a way thru symbolism to identify and communicate with each other. They used the “FISH” as a secret symbol. ἸΧΘΥΣ (IKhThUS) in Koine Greek its acronym translates into English as ‘JESUS CHRIST, SON OF GOD, SAVIOR’. Nowadays it is known colloquially as the “sign of the fish” or the “Jesus fish”. ***

May the peace of God be upon us!
When we have the peace of Christ in our hearts, thankfulness overflows. Even in the darkest of times, we can praise Him for His love, and trust in His sovereignty. With a strong faith, no one can separate us from the love of God, that is revealed to us in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour. *************************************************************************** – Joan Amorganda #009-09022021 > my poem, poem, poetry, quotes, quotation, quotations, pray, prayers

Happy Easter Sunday!
As we reflect and celebrate “Easter Sunday” to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is the core essence of Christianity, I would love to share with you a song written by Bill and Gloria Gaither entitled “Because He Lives“. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the centre of Christianity and the most sacred site of Christendom, is a church within the Christian Quarter of Old City, Jerusalem. It is also called the Church of the Resurrection but was formerly known by its original Greek name: the Church of the Anastasis. The church contains the two holiest sites in Christendom: the site where Jesus of Nazareth was crucified known as Calvary in Latin and Golgotha in Greek, and Jesus’s empty tomb, where he is said to have been buried and resurrected. Within the church proper are the last four (or, by some definitions, five) stations of the Via Dolorosa, representing the final episodes of Jesus’s…

Baptism Site of Jesus “Bethany Beyond the Jordan”
Throughout history and especially for Christians, the Jordan River has special spiritual significance that sets it aside from other rivers in the world. It is in the waters of Jordan that Jesus of Nazareth was baptized by John the Baptist. It is officially known as Baptism Site “Bethany Beyond the Jordan”. This area is considered to be the original location of the Baptism of Jesus. Please check other blogs below about my visit to Jordan. Amman Citadel
