Hong Kong

As we all know Hong Kong is a vibrant urban city. It is one of the best places to visit for a short getaway and a perfect city for shopping in East Asia.

It was an ideal place for a solo traveler like me who was on a shoestring budget. Some areas in Hong Kong can be very expensive so during my recent travel, I stayed in a hostel where I shared a room with five other ladies  in Causeway Bay. The property is located along the main street and is just around five-minute walk to the train station. It is also within the area where you could find wide options of street foods at affordable prices and small shops selling variety of items.

I must say that my recent visit to Hong Kong was absolutely more rewarding. One of the things that inspired me the most to go back was to visit a place called Suen Douh Camp, an estate that was purchased for one Dollar that was donated by a 14-year-old girl. I heard about this incredible story from several Christian messages on YouTube particularly by Michael Ramsden (he is the International Director of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries and one of the founders of   OCCA or Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics), as well as from various articles in print and online. One of the articles I have read that I would love to share with you is from Paul and Peggy Schlieker’s “When God Made You: One of Our Inspirational Devotions” at www.bible-study-lesson-plans.com/when-god-made-you.htmlI hope you will find time to read the article found on the link, or you may search for more details about this story online.

I will be posting a separate article on my next blog about this incredible story on how a dollar became instrumental for the realization of an enormous project such as the Suen Douh Camp. I remember, I was exhilarated on entering the premises looking at the children doing their activities and thinking that this is a living proof of divine intervention. No matter how small it may seem God can and will do through it astounding things which are unthinkable to us mere mortals. I strongly believe that if this principle works for them, in some way or another, it will work for me and to you as well.
