The Rose City: Petra Jordan
Petra, also known as the Lost City, is a famous archaeological site located in the southwestern desert in Jordan dating back to around 300 B.C. Famous for its rock-cut monumental buildings; it was the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom. This was once the setting for a thriving Christian community. With churches, tombs and temples carved into the pink sandstone cliffs, earning its nickname, the “Rose City“. A City that is said to be “half as old as time”. Baptism Site of Jesus “Bethany Beyond the Jordan”
Throughout history and especially for Christians, the Jordan River has special spiritual significance that sets it aside from other rivers in the world. It is in the waters of Jordan that Jesus of Nazareth was baptized by John the Baptist. It is officially known as Baptism Site “Bethany Beyond the Jordan”. Jerash City Jordan
Jerash is one of the best preserved classical Roman cities in the Middle East. It is said to be one of the largest Roman ruins and interesting cities beyond Italy, located in the north of Jordan. Archaeological evidence indicates that it was inhabited at least 5,000 years ago. The Jerash Temple of Artemis dominated the whole city which was built on one of the highest points.
