    A visit to Vienna Austria

Is it true that there are no kangaroos in Austria? One night when I was walking in one of the busy shopping streets called Kärntner Straße in Vienna, I was a bit surprised to see the signs ‘No kangaroos in Austria’. This phrase caught my attention. For a while I was confused why these signs are everywhere especially in the souvenir shops. Then I realized and I remember what our tour guide said that this is to remind the tourists that they are actually in Central Europe, in a landlocked country called Austria, and not in Australia. I had a wonderful time during my visit to this land of the…

    Sightseeing day in Brussels

During my first odyssey to Europe, I chose Belgium as one of the countries to visit. I stayed in the country’s capital city – Brussels. Although it is relatively small when it comes to land area, it is of great power and significance in world affairs. Brussels is a cosmopolitan city that hosts several of the EU’s official seats and is the headquarters of many major international organizations such as NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) and WCO (World Customs Organization), among others. Plus, it is also the birthplace of one of my personal favourite actresses, Audrey Hepburn, who starred in films such as Roman Holiday, My Fair Lady, and Breakfast…

    Travel with me

Travelling has been one of my immense dreams. After visiting to more than thirty countries it has inclined me to write this book in a plain, simple way I wish to share the feeling, smell, sights, and sound that I personally encountered, as well as the weird and wonderful things I experienced during my travels that apparently according to IBN Battuta, a Moroccan Muslim traveller and scholar who said that ‘Travelling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.’ For a period, I hesitated to push through writing my texts, thinking who would believe me in the first place other than myself and perhaps some of my…

The “City of Lights” – Paris

Bonjour! Paris is a vibrant city which is named as one of the world’s most beautiful cities where people come to admire its exceptional architecture. It is also the capital of gastronomy, fashion and shopping. I would assume that it is one of the dreams of every romantic to visit the “City of Lights”. Millions of people visit to the French capital every year and in 2014, I was one of them. Like most of the first time tourists I was able to climb up to the second observatory level of the Eiffel Tower. This global cultural iconic monument was built for the 1889 Universal Exposition in Paris. It has…

Stunning Peles Castle in Sinaia Romania

After more than 2 hours’ drive from the capital city Bucharest, we arrived in a picturesque Carpathian Mountains to visit Peles Castle. This magnificent Castle which was once the summer residence of the Romanian Kings is now one of the most important museums in the country. It is considered as one of the most stunning castles in Europe. Its foundation was laid on 22 August 1873, as commissioned by King Carol 1 of Romania. According to our tour guide, Peles was the first European Castle entirely lit by electrical current and having central heating, as well as a vacuuming system that is still working even to this day. When visiting…

    My fascination about Ancient Egypt

Talking about Ancient Egypt, it’s one of the topics that I thought only existed in History books. Subjects like these are even taught at the early years in primary schools, which made me think it’s already gone to extinction. And that nothing is left to see for real to validate its then mighty existence. Except in limited books we had, and of course in some movies and documentary films we used to watch. As a fond of history, geography and the likes, I knew a little bit about Egypt that compelled me to someday visit this country. It has one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that is…

    My first visit to Bangkok

I vividly remember my experience the first time I visited Thailand, it was a challenging one for me as I had just undergone Laparoscopic surgery. I was still recuperating at that time so I had to be more cautious not to tire myself too much. I still felt pain and uncomfortable that I had to wear loose dress and of course a pair of flat comfortable shoes.   Most of all, I had to avoid lifting heavy objects. The worst thing was I had to control my diet not to over eat. To me, it was kind of a torture in a way since I was in a place with…

    Futuristic City Singapore

It’s been a while since I visited Singapore. There have been a lot of changes that have taken place already since then. I love Singapore, it has a reputation of being clean and safe. It is famous for being a diverse global financial center, a highly industrialized modern city-sate in South East Asia with loads of mesmerizing things to offer to its visitors, although it is relatively expensive. However for a few days holiday, it’s all worth  to experience and explore a fantastic place with awesome views and futuristic infrastructure. Thank you Regs…!   The photos i’m sharing with you here were sent to me by my good friend Reginald,…

    A day in Macau

Gone are the days of  Portuguese occupation in Macau, but even up to this day its influence is still evident.  With an example being in the food as  Portuguese cuisine is widely available aside from Chinese and other International cuisines. Some of its well preserved and renovated infrastructure and even its signage are written in Cantonese and English, but usually bears Portuguese language translation along with it.   Probably the most recognizable ruins in Macau  is The old Church of Mater Dei and St. Paul’s College that was built in 1602-1640. Its complex leaves imposing stone carvings and structural remnants with a facade that is commonly known as St. Paul’s…

    Hong Kong

As we all know Hong Kong is a vibrant urban city. It is one of the best places to visit for a short getaway and a perfect city for shopping in East Asia. It was an ideal place for a solo traveler like me who was on a shoestring budget. Some areas in Hong Kong can be very expensive so during my recent travel, I stayed in a hostel where I shared a room with five other ladies  in Causeway Bay. The property is located along the main street and is just around five-minute walk to the train station. It is also within the area where you could find wide…
