A visit to Baku Fountains Square (Parapet) during Novruz
Time to have dinner on my first day in Azerbaijan. I thought of going to a restaurant serving authentic local cuisine. I was curious as to what their food would be like. There were several restaurants near my accommodation such as Chinese, Indian, and some of Middle Eastern origin. There were pizzeria shops and of course KFC in Fountain Square (Parapet). I learned that a branch of KFC near a former train station in Baku is known to be the World’s largest. Actually, it was the largest branch in the World, as it’s already closed now. I noticed the streets were busy, adults and children were heading in a particular…

Here is a short video clip I posted on my YouTube channel regarding my visit to the “Big Apple”. Sadly, some of my original videos were corrupted. Thank God, my good friend Reginald Villanueva has given me permission to use his clips from his Instagram account, which I added to the video I created for my YouTube channel. You may as well visit his Instagram account @ https://www.instagram.com/regvillanueva/. He is a frequent traveler. For sure you will be amazed of the places he has visited. I have created a few blogs about my wonderful visit to some of the famous cities of the United States of America. You will…

Little Bangkok Restaurant in Dubai
One of the things that I love about Thailand is definitely its food. As we all know, millions of people visit the country every year. Its strategic location in South East Asia and the availability of international flight connections make it easier to reach wherever you may come from. It is a country that has so many things to offer, be it for business or for leisure. Its capital city, Bangkok is an ideal place to spend a holiday with family and friends even for those with a low budget. The city offers wide options to choose from when it comes to affordable accommodation, convenient transportation, sightseeing options, etc… It…

Burj Al Arab: Living up to its promise
It was in the year 2000 when I first set foot in United Arab Emirates and since then Dubai has been my second home. As any resident from that time could attest, Dubai has had a huge and wonderful transformation especially when it comes to its architecture and infrastructure. One of the most iconic buildings is the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab, or “Tower of the Arabs”. It is a luxury hotel which stands on an artificial island. For several years I was just one of those admiring its unique beauty from a distance and wishing someday that I could visit and see its exquisite interior up close and personal rather than…

A visit to the Land “Down Under”
Australia is one of the countries that I longed to someday visit and see for myself. I knew it wouldn’t be easy. I had to decide the best point of entry knowing its massive land area. I thought that there was no better way to start my exploration than at its largest city – Sydney. From Dubai, it took 14 hours flight to reach Sydney. It was an exhausting flight which meant that as soon as I reached the accommodation I had to rest the whole night to recharge myself and make sure that I would be fully fit to start my exploits for the following day. There were so…

Indulge in Turkish Delight
It was a freezing December when I set foot in Turkey. Istanbul is the country’s largest city, the financial, cultural, and historical centre. It is the only city in the world located between two continents: Asia and Europe. Istanbul is a fascinating city that houses various compelling attractions. Luckily, most of the sites are in close proximity to the hotel where I stayed. Many well-known sites such as the Grand Bazaar, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Sultan Ahmet Mosque, which is popularly known as the Blue Mosque, are amongst the most visited. One of the activities not to be missed when in Istanbul is a boat ride and I…

Travel with me
Travelling has been one of my immense dreams. After visiting to more than thirty countries it has inclined me to write this book in a plain, simple way I wish to share the feeling, smell, sights, and sound that I personally encountered, as well as the weird and wonderful things I experienced during my travels that apparently according to IBN Battuta, a Moroccan Muslim traveller and scholar who said that ‘Travelling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.’ For a period, I hesitated to push through writing my texts, thinking who would believe me in the first place other than myself and perhaps some of my…

The “City of Lights” – Paris
Bonjour! Paris is a vibrant city which is named as one of the world’s most beautiful cities where people come to admire its exceptional architecture. It is also the capital of gastronomy, fashion and shopping. I would assume that it is one of the dreams of every romantic to visit the “City of Lights”. Millions of people visit to the French capital every year and in 2014, I was one of them. Like most of the first time tourists I was able to climb up to the second observatory level of the Eiffel Tower. This global cultural iconic monument was built for the 1889 Universal Exposition in Paris. It has…

My first visit to Bangkok
I vividly remember my experience the first time I visited Thailand, it was a challenging one for me as I had just undergone Laparoscopic surgery. I was still recuperating at that time so I had to be more cautious not to tire myself too much. I still felt pain and uncomfortable that I had to wear loose dress and of course a pair of flat comfortable shoes. Most of all, I had to avoid lifting heavy objects. The worst thing was I had to control my diet not to over eat. To me, it was kind of a torture in a way since I was in a place with…
