Gobustan Day Tour (Mud Volcanoes)
The original plan for the day was to go to Gabala, but for some reason, that trip was canceled. With the recommendation of the Baku City Tours company, I joined the Gobustan group tour instead. The Gobustan group tour package is a whole-day activity headed by a professional tour guide and includes pick-up and drop-off in shared transportation by air-conditioned minivan, as well as entry tickets to different sites. For lunch, we were taken to a countryside restaurant that served local cuisine. This part added value to our tour as we had the experience of having our meal with some locals that indicated we were indeed having authentic Azerbaijani food…

A visit to Baku Fountains Square (Parapet) during Novruz
Time to have dinner on my first day in Azerbaijan. I thought of going to a restaurant serving authentic local cuisine. I was curious as to what their food would be like. There were several restaurants near my accommodation such as Chinese, Indian, and some of Middle Eastern origin. There were pizzeria shops and of course KFC in Fountain Square (Parapet). I learned that a branch of KFC near a former train station in Baku is known to be the World’s largest. Actually, it was the largest branch in the World, as it’s already closed now. I noticed the streets were busy, adults and children were heading in a particular…

Alice’s Shop in Oxford, England
ALICE’S SHOP IN OXFORD, ENGLAND. More than a hundred years ago, a certain sweetshop in Oxford, England was frequented by a real girl by the name of Alice. The girl was Alice Pleasance Liddell, who is known to have been the inspiration for a Math lecturer in Christ Church, Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (A.K.A Lewis Carroll), to write what has become one of the most popular children’s novels “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.”, commonly known as “Alice in Wonderland”. Today at the very same location, the shop is now named “Alice’s Shop” which anyone can visit to have a first-hand feel of the adventures of the young girl as featured in Lewis…

Rare Books – Family Bible
It was an exhilarating day for me (Thursday, 30th December 2021) to find these 18xx Edition Family Illustrated Holy Bible Volume 1 and Volume 11, which have humongous size and elephantine weight. Of course each piece comes with a hefty price. I’m optimistic that with these precious Books, once sold to the right buyer, I will be able to start building my long time dream – a Library in our hometown, Bindoy in Negros Oriental, Philippines. Although the land/ area is ready, I know it won’t be enough to cover the cost. But I’m optimistic that with your help the Library will be realized… soon. Yes, it’s been a difficult…

Just a Thought!
Come what may, Be reminded of my favourite cliché “Fortune favours the brave”, they say. So, let’s get ready for the next adventure. Let the wanderlust go. Allow the travel bug to bite you. This Pandemic if indeed prolonged, we pray may it not. Otherwise, many including myself will start to rot. ******************** By: Joan Amorganda #022-03062021 my poem, poem, poetry, my poetry, verse, quotes, quotation, quotations

Abide!
Lord God, as you are enthroned in your kingdom, May we achieve your divine peace to come. Day by day may you help us to live only for you. To keep the promise of Christ in our hearts, this we’ll do. Abide in us, as we pray to you God our Lord, That your love will keep us all in one accord. Christ, in you we trust with your divine grace, That in our hearts we see your loving face. Amen! ********************************************************************************************** – Joan Amorganda #011-15022021 > my poem, poem, poetry, quote, quotes, quotation, quotations, pray, prayers

Things to do when in Taiwan
A Taipei Sightseeing Tour is probably the best option to explore most of the City’s attractions on an open-top double-decker bus. It offers unlimited hop-on hop-off access therefore giving you the freedom to visit places of interest at your own pace while in the capital City. Whether you wish to stay for hours at Taipei 101, to do your shopping. Take a nice stroll around the National Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. Or have your meal at the iconic Grand Hotel. Here is a short video clip of some of the places during the tour while aboard the city tour bus in Taipei. Here’s a short clip posted on my …

A visit to the capital of Switzerland
More on Switzerland, the country that I admired the most when it comes to spectacular scenery. It is a nation that has clean and beautiful countryside, nice people, as well as inspiring history. It is just to name a few of the reasons why I honestly love Switzerland. There is no better way to know more about this wonderful and rich country than to visit its capital city – Bern, even just for a day. Bern is the de facto capital and the fifth most populous city in Switzerland. It traces its origins back to the twelfth century with much evidence of the medieval architecture from that time preserved in…
